Cygnia is nearly 25 years old and moved on to Brackmills 20 years ago, expanding year on year, operating now from sites on Caswell Road.

he company employs 400 staff on the estate and have rebranded from its former name Delepak at the start of 2018, in line with its focus on e-commerce which accounts for a large amount of the business.

Sharon Hacker, Head of Human Resources, Cygnia, said: “We chose Brackmills as it is so central in the UK and close to the M1. Staff tend to live in the town centre, so we organise shift changes around the excellent bus timetables. There are also cycle hubs on the estate and the security is superb.

"We often see a police presence, which is reassuring, and because there are several routes in and out of the estate you can always get to work, even if there are traffic problems nearby. I was working on Brackmills 10 years ago when it first became a BID and I remember a sudden change – better roads, a cleaner estate, CCTV cameras and an emphasis on security.

"The BID team send email alerts to all businesses as soon as anything suspicious is spotted, and safety is a priority. We will definitely be voting yes for another five-year term of the BID. Without it we would see the problems that used to define the estate – crime, mess, lorries piled on verges – all return.”
