Training excellence with a human touch

Redi-Lift Learning has been based on the estate for 20 years, operating a large training school that instructs warehouse operatives and logistics workers in forklift driving and the safe operation of specialist machinery. Following its acquisition by DK Group in 2024, the business has continued to grow, recently investing in new racking and lighting to enhance its training facility.

The nine-strong team at Brackmills includes Audrey, Adam McLaren Operations Manager, an apprentice and six instructors. Despite operating in what could be seen as a mechanical and process-driven industry, the team has fostered a family spirit and takes a distinctly human approach to their work.

Tailored training for every need

Redi-Lift Learning prides itself on offering flexible, tailored training solutions. The business works with independent companies to upskill their workforce, supports individuals looking to grow their careers, and partners with organisations including The Shaw Trust, Prison and Probation Service, Department for Work and Pensions, and The Job Centre to help people back into employment.

Training can take place at the Brackmills facility, at a smaller site in Coventry, or on location at a client’s own premises using their machinery. The team also travels internationally, having recently provided training in Portugal and Poland.

Importantly, the team speaks a variety of languages, reflecting the multinational workforce common in warehouse logistics. This means Redi-Lift Learning can take extra care to ensure complete understanding and confidence in trainees, not simply competence. Given the serious safety implications of operating heavy machinery, this attention to detail is particularly important.

A comprehensive A-Z solution

Health and safety is at the heart of everything Redi-Lift Learning does. Warehouse environments and machinery can be incredibly dangerous, and the team takes its responsibility for teaching safe practices very seriously.

Over recent months, Redi-Lift Learning has expanded its offering to provide comprehensive logistics training covering manual handling, rack inspection, shunter training, forklift driving and first aid. In summer 2025, the business launched another piece of this puzzle: training specifically designed for warehouse managers and supervisors.

Audrey explains that this training is vital because even managers who don’t operate machinery themselves need to understand how it’s used, the associated risks, and the safety protocols their staff must follow. This knowledge is essential for keeping everyone safe, productive and compliant with the HSE.

Developing the next generation

Audrey is particularly proud to be mentoring Gracie, an apprentice on an 18-month placement with Redi-Lift Learning. Having seen first-hand the value of good guidance on a career path, Audrey is passionate about skills development. This commitment reflects the ethos of the wider business, which has a genuine interest in building confidence, competence and safety awareness in everyone they teach.

Looking ahead, Audrey is enthusiastic about the work of Brackmills BID and appreciates the energy and effort that goes into making the estate a great place to work. She and the Redi-Lift Learning team are keen to become more involved in the Brackmills community and look forward to meeting, and perhaps training, more of their neighbours.
