Rather than selecting a single charity of the year, we opened the process up to BID members across the estate, inviting them to nominate local causes close to their hearts. The response was overwhelming, and as a result we chose five incredible organisations that uphold all the values and objectives of the BID community.
We therefore proudly support:
Motor Neurone Disease Association, Northamptonshire branch
The Wildlife Trust — Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire
Northampton Supports Ukraine Appeal
Brackmills Food Bank, in partnership with Northamptonshire Police
As well as making a financial contribution, the BID is committed to extending support by inviting charity partners to events, connecting them with businesses and people across the estate, and providing platforms to raise awareness and funds. If you’d like to find out more about any of our charity partners or would like to know how you can support their work, please get in touch with us [email protected]
The BID has purchased litter picking equipment that is available to all businesses who wish to give back to the estate by helping to keep our streets clean and tidy. As well as joining our annual World Clean Up Day Litter Pick, if you would like to hold or support a litter pick, we will gladly provide all the equipment you will need – and do a call out for volunteers on our socials if you need a hand.
To enhance the estate’s appearance, the BID has invested in 54 strategically placed litter bins, collected weekly to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
The BID has litter pickers and gloves to help enable businesses on the estate to perform litter picks with volunteers from their own businesses.
The BID has planted over 10,000 spring bulbs around the estate, and work with local organisations to install bird and bat boxes on our estate.
Our Brackmills Hero Awards recognise outstanding individuals, teams, and companies who champion safety, environmental sustainability, and community engagement. From security initiatives and charitable fundraisers to health programs and volunteer efforts, we celebrate those who go above and beyond to make Brackmills a better place.
Our Brackmills Heroes will receive a £25 universal high street voucher and a big round of applause to thank them for their efforts.
